Artwork Style Descriptions
Style A: Two Color Block
This bold and graphic method of manipulating the sonogram involves breaking up the image into flat shapes. Two values showing positive and negative space is most similar to the appearance of the unaltered sonogram. This is the most simple and minimal design for your painting.
Style B: Three to Four Color Block
Similar to Style A, this style breaks the sonogram down into three or four flat shape values (colors). The extra values give the design added depth and dimension. This style has clean hard-edged lines and an appearance similar to that of a silkscreen.
Style C: Abstracted/Textured
To abstract an image means to alter or step away from the physical representation and recognizable quality of the image and instead focus on the expressive nature. Sonograms can take on many different appearances through the use of image enhancing software. By bringing out hidden designs and textures within the image and removing the immediate recognition of subject matter, the true nature is able to reveal itself to the viewer in its own special way. This style is more intricate, modern and funky and will appeal to those who truly want a piece that is as unique as they are.
Style D: 3D/4D Blended
Today’s ultrasound technology is truly amazing. If you have 3 or 4 dimensional ultrasound images, the painting style possibilities are endless. This style focuses on the realistic features and form of your baby. Colors are blended smoothly using light and shadow to showcase the special true to life appearance of the 3D/4D ultrasound image.
